Activities
The camp, located at Edison Middle School, runs various activities throughout the day. These on-site
activities can include, but are not limited to:
- SPORTS – basketball, football, soccer, kick ball, dodge ball...
- GAMES – board games, knock hockey, trivia, educational games...
- SPECIAL EVENTS
– the planetarium, gaming truck, ice cream truck, and other events that are brought to the camp...
The camp also does off-site
activities. The camp goes to the West Orange Township Pool
twice per week. Field trips can include the Turtle Back Zoo,
East Hanover Funplex, and
Tomahawk Lake (for older kids only) in Byram Township. There aren't any additional costs for the entrance fees or busing for the trips, except you may want to give your child extra money on trip days to buy food etc.
The trips to the pool are every Tuesday and Friday morning, weather permitting. The children go to the town pool between 9:00am and 11:30am. All children will be tested on the first day that they go swimming to determine what section of the pool they will use. The children will then be given a wrist band that designates the appropriate pool section. The town of West Orange provides the life guards at the pool.
