2014 SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION INFORMATION IS NOW AVAILABLE.  THE REGISTRATION SYSTEM IS NOW AVAILABLE TO USE.

FAMILIES MUST BE WEST ORANGE RESIDENTS AS REQUIRED BY WEST ORANGE BOARD OF EDUCATION AS CONDITION TO USE OF PUBLIC SCHOOL BUILDINGS AS CAMP SITE

PLEASE NOTE THAT SHADOW COUNSELORS WILL NOT BE PROVIDED THIS YEAR FOR SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN. THE FOOTSTEPS PROGRAM WHICH SPONSORED THE SHADOW COUNSELORS HAS OPENED THEIR OWN SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM THROUGH THE TOWN RECREATION PROGRAM. IT RUNS FOR UP TO SIX WEEKS FROM 12:30 TO 3:30.

THE SUMMER CAMP IS BROKEN DOWN INTO 2 SESSIONS
 
BOTH SESSIONS RUN FROM 7:30 AM TO 6:00 PM
 
FOOD NOT PROVIDED IN SUMMER CAMP SESSIONS THOUGH WE KEEP A SUPPLY ON HAND IN THE CASE WHERE A CHILD IS HUNGRY OR HAVE FORGOTTEN THEIR SNACK AND /OR LUNCH.

SESSION 1 - WILL RUN FROM WEDNESDAY, JUNE 25, 2014 THROUGH FRIDAY, JULY 25.
 
THE ENTIRE CAMP (ALL GRADES) WILL BE HELD AT REDWOOD SCHOOL (INCLUDING THE SECOND SESSION).





SESSION 2 - WILL RUN FROM JULY 28TH THRU AUGUST 15 (OPEN TO CHILDREN COMPLETING KINDERGARTEN THRU 5TH GRADE).

*PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THE SECOND SESSION SLOTS ARE "LIMITED" AND ARE ON A "FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE" BASIS. ALSO NOTE THAT THE SECOND SESSION IS ONLY OPEN TO THOSE CHILDREN THAT ATTENDED THE FIRST SESSION. ALSO NOTE THAT YOU CAN EXCHANGE ONE OR TWO WEEKS IN THE FIRST SESSION FOR AN EQUIVALENT NUMBER OF WEEKS IN THE SECOND SESSION.





THE FIRST SESSION COST IS $700 FOR THE ENTIRE SESSION. MUST REGISTER FOR ENTIRE SESSION. NO SPLIT WEEKS ARE AVAILABLE, HOWEVER, WE WILL ALLOW AN EXCHANGE OF WEEKS IN THE FIRST SESSION FOR EQUIVALENT WEEKS IN THE SECOND SESSION.

THOSE FAMILIES "NOT" NEEDING THE 3 EXTRA DAYS OF CAMP FROM JUNE 25 TO JUNE 27 CAN SIGN UP ONLY FOR THE REGULAR FOUR WEEKS AT A PRICE OF $600.

THE CAMP IS SUPERVISED BY EXPERIENCED STAFF WHO HAVE WORKED IN THIS CAMP MINIMALLY FOR 5 YEARS. THE SUPERVISORS ARE CERTIFIED TEACHERS AND ARE ASSISTED AT EACH SITE BY ADDITIONAL CERTIFIED TEACHERS.


THERE WILL BE THREE TO FOUR TRIPS SCHEDULED FOR THE FOUR WEEK CAMP. THE TRIPS ARE AGE SENSITIVE.

THE ACTIVITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:


*SPORTS - BASKETBALL, FOOTBALL, SOCCER, KICK BALL AND DODGE BALL.

*GAME ROOM - BOARD GAMES, KNOCK HOCKEY, TRIVIA, EDUCATIONAL.

*SPECIAL EVENTS - OUTRAGEOUS PETS, EVENTS, TOWN POOL.

*TRIPS - (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY AND CHANGE) TOMAHAWK LAKE, EAGLE
ROCK BOWLING LANES, EAST HANOVER FUNPLEX AND TURTLE BACK ZOO.




THE SECOND SESSION IS FOR 3 WEEKS. YOU MAY REGISTER FOR ONE, TWO OR THREE WEEKS SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE.

"PLEASE NOTE THAT "ONLY" THOSE CHILDREN ENROLLED IN THE FOUR WEEK SESSION OF CAMP ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE SECOND SESSION OF CAMP."



WE ARE PLANNING ONE TO TWO TRIPS DURING THIS THREE WEEK SESSION. THERE IS ALSO INCREASED POOL TIME AT THE TOWN POOL DURING THIS SESSION.

THE COST PER WEEK IS $160. THE WEEKS RUN FROM JULY 28 THRU AUGUST 1; AUGUST 4TH THRU AUGUST 8 AND AUGUST 11 THRU AUGUST 15.


Request for partial to full scholarships should be addressed to our email address at wochbgc@hotmail.com . We generally require a copy of your latest pay-stubs and/or the first 2 pages of your 2013 income tax return. We will follow up by return email. Also understand that you should contact Program for Parents at 973-297-1114 to see if you qualify for a government subsidy before requesting a scholarship from us. That organization provides child care subsidies for low income working families that meet their requirements.  We may not provide scholarships to those families that would meet Program for Parents requirements.

Please note that scholarship requests may not be answered until mid June
.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

THIS YEAR'S REGISTRATION WILL BE DONE ON OUR "CAPTURE POINT" REGISTRATION PROGRAM. YOU SHOULD DOWNLOAD THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CAPTURE POINT SYSTEM WHICH WILL HELP YOU IN SETTING UP AND ACCOUNT AS WELL AS NAVIGATE THE REGISTRATION PROCESS.
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNDER THE CAPTURE POINT SYSTEM YOU MUST MAKE PAYMENT IN FULL. THE SYSTEM ALLOWS PAYMENT BY CREDIT CARD SO YOU CAN MAKE THE PAYMENT IN FULL AND PAYOFF YOUR CREDIT CARD AS YOU SEE FIT.
IF YOU INTEND TO MAKE A PARTIAL PAYMENT BY CREDIT CARD YOU CAN DO SO ONLY BY REGISTERING FOR PARTS OF THE CAMP. FOR EXAMPLE YOU COULD REGISTER FOR SESSION ONE AND THE TOTAL WILL COME TO $635 ($600 PLUS A $35 REGISTRATION FEE). YOU WOULD PAY THIS IN FULL. A FEW WEEKS LATER YOU COULD GO BACK INTO THE SYSTEM TO YOUR ACCOUNT AND THEN REGISTER FOR THE SESSION TWO WEEKS AND PAY THAT IN FULL. THE ONLY THING YOU SHOULD BE MINDFUL OF IS THERE ARE CAPS ON ENROLLMENT FOR EACH SESSION.

"ANYONE GETTING ANY SCHOLARSHIPS OR ON PROGRAMS FOR PARENTS MUST SPEAK TO US FIRST BEFORE GOING INTO AND REGISTERING ON CAPTURE POINT. WE WILL EXPLAIN HOW DO DEAL WITH THE PAYMENT SECTION".
